<p>Thanks! I looked it up earlier and found out that national merits get the out-of-state tuition waived and also $17,000 total. It said before the class of 2011 though, we would have gotten $38,000!</p>

<p>In-state, NMS's only get $1000/year and a ($1000 stipend for something else.) And anyway, there will be a fee for freshmen starting next year of....voila, $1000 a year.</p>
<p>National Merit students also get to register on the first day..that is a big plus because otherwise it is hard to get good class times.</p>

<p>You register for your first semester at preview. For every other semester there is a range of days when you register. The more credit hours you have, the earlier you register (so upperclassmen are first and freshmen are last). National Merit students get to register on the first day.</p>
