Does anyone know when the stats will be available for commended cut off in Texas?

There is a single cutoff for commended nationally.
The semifinalist cutoff differs by state.

National Merit really, really doesn’t like to publish this information. Students who met at least the commended cutoff should be getting letters (delivered by their school, IIRC) in early May. There’s a separate section here for National Merit (in the Financial Aid & Scholarship area) where people will probably start posting if they received the letter and what their score was. From that information we will be able to figure out what the cutoff was.

The same thing will happen in late August/early September as we try to figure out the state semifinalist cutoff scores.

Commended is usually in the 201 neighborhood. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/843257-2011-national-merit-commended-cutoff-score-percentile.html

Yup - 201 Nationally. We will have to wait a few weeks to be sure.

My daughter received a letter today from National Merit Scholarship Corp giving her the opportunity to select two college choices. She had a PSAT score of 203 and is Hispanic. Is it possible this one letter is for both National Hispanic Scholar and National Merit Commended?

There is whole category on National Merit Scholarships in CC

It appears that this year the cut off is 201 nationally. State cut offs are only for moving to Semi Finalist Status.

I stand corrected, the cut off this year appears to be 202 not 201. Again this is based on posting in a different thread.

I think this year’s cut off is a score of 200. That was my son’s score and he received a letter yesterday, which we definitely were not expecting.
