Is there a question on the app about being NM commended? How would one put this on their app if applying early since those NM letters don’t officially go out until August/September? I believe my son is commended from his index number but he hasn’t received confirmation yet.
I haven’t seen the current application, but in the past there was a section for Talents/Awards/Honors where you could list NM commended with a short explanation that it’s anticipated Fall 2019.
If I remember correctly, there was a separate question about being a NM semifinalist, so if it’s possible he might qualify, make sure you answer it as yes. If you’re sure he won’t make semifinalist, then I’d put commended in the honors section mentioned above. Congrats to your son!
