<p>Can anyone tell me what the cutoff will be for Finalists in Ohio this year?</p>
<p>Won't be announced till Sept. You can look up the last few years cutoff scores on this site. I would guess it will be 214+.</p>

<p>since I don't know how to paste documents- do a search under "psat cutoff" and there is a thread titled "psat high cutoff scores" that has a post which includes all of the numbers that you are looking for. <p>I was a sophomore last school year and recieved a 210 in MI.
Does that mean that if I was a junior, I would have been one of the 591 semi-finalists?</p>

<p>Has anyone experience a large jump in their PSAT score from their Sophmore to Junior year? I scored 196 as a Soph in Ohio and was hoping that I could score high enough to be NMS Semi-Finalist or Finalist. Has anyone seen their scores jump 15-20 points like I am hoping mine will?</p>
<p>MidWestKid - yes, scores do typically go up from sophomore to junior year. My son's scores jumped around 20 pts - he took the test completely cold sophomore year, and did some prep junior year.</p>
<p>I did a 199 in my sophomore year and a 225 in my junior...so jumping a lot is def possible.</p>
<p>I love my score, btw, because its just high enough to get me semi anywhere...but still not freakishly high.</p>
<p>Slightly off topic... I had 229 (Ohio), which is well within the cutoff, but I choked on the SAT for a 2170. Would this take me out of consideration for finalist status?</p>
<p>no.. from what i hear, its like if you do HORRIBLY... like less than average maybe, im not sure. but you'll be fine. and if you dont, then i wont either (225 PSAT, 2150, SAT)</p>

<p>Actually I think the problem is usually GPA. I know someone who got semifinalist with decent test scores but his 3.4 GPA (unweighted) prevented him from getting finalist status.</p>

<p>To be commended, it's the same score nationally. 202 this year; 201 last.</p>
