so i called the admissions office and of course no one was there…no one responded to my email either

someone should go to the NYU forums page [NYU Admissions Bulletin Board - Powered by Eve For Enterprise](http://nyu.infopop.cc/eve) to figure out what all of this is about!

I’m so confused about this email, does it mean you’re in? I was reading the other thread from last year and I’m still confused. I didn’t receive a invitation or anything in the mail and the email like doesn’t say anything certain…

I really don’t want to assume that it’s a “hey you’re in, just updating you on scholarships” thing if it’s not but the whole “we look forward to… in September” is really tempting to believe that it’s an acceptance!

just to play devil’s advocate… why would we get this email instead of "Congratulations! I am very pleased to inform you that your offer of admission to New York University’s College of Arts and Science will be mailed to you at the end of March. You can expect to receive a UPS package from our office on or around April 1st. In addition to the offer of admission, you will learn more about the next steps in securing a place in our Class of 2013.

I would like to personally invite you and your parents to join us on Sunday, April 5th for the College of Arts and Science Admitted Student Program at our campus in Washington Square. At this event, you will have the opportunity to meet our students, faculty, and staff. Please make a reservation no later than March 30th at xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

For your convenience, we are also offering programs for admitted students to all of NYU’s undergraduate schools and colleges at three locations in Europe this spring. If you would like to join us in London on March 31st, Paris on April 2nd, or Florence on April 4th, please make a reservation by March 20th at xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Congratulations once again. I look forward to seeing you at our event in New York City or at one of our global centers in Europe." ?

Okay…just to maybe clarify things in a bit, is anyone on here who applied to CAS that DIDN’T get this email? If EVERYONE who applied to CAS got an email, than clearly, we are not all in…however, if there are CAS applicants who didn’t get them, then, juuuust maybe, we can assume that we are accepted.

Ah, okay. Haha, yeah neither were mine, I was so incensed when I first got the email–I was like, hey, way to throw in my face that I absolutely WON’T qualify for this.

Seriously though, someone in the admissions office needs to amend that letter…it’d certainly prevent the slew of concerned phone calls that will surely be coming their way in the upcoming days over this silly ambiguity.

Do they just send out extra information for those who do confirm the National Merit Finalist or do they actually admit you into the NMF program?

It’s kind of weird that they would do this since then anyone could confirm.

I wish to receive information but from what they are saying, it seems it is only limited to NMF.

So basically, can I confirm to get info for all their programs without any problems (for example, will NYU will put me into programs that I do not qualify for)?
