<p>To those of who were National Merit Semifinalists (class of 2006, of course), what was the EXACT prompt of the essay? Thanks for your help.</p>
<p>umm..National Merit essay? I never knew you had to do one to be a semifinalist...dang that sucks. But if your talking about PSAT Test, there is no essay.</p>
<p>THe essay you write to become a finalist.</p>
<p>EXACT prompt..uhhh.. it was something like "Describe how you are unique" or something like that BS. The quality of the essay isn't that important as 15,000 of the 16,000 semifinalists will become finalists.</p>
<p>You do an essay if you are a semifinalist, not to become one. The prompt was "In your own words, describe your personal characteristics, accomplishments, primary interests, plans, and goals. What sets you apart?"</p>
