<p>You do not need to have a first choice selected to win the NMSC $2500 scholarship.</p>

<p>If you win one, you need to select a first choice college prior to May 1st in order to receive the scholarship.</p>

Isn’t the NMSC $2500 recipients announced after May 1?
Last year, the corporate sponsored NM scholarships are announced in late April, The NMSC $2500 in early May, and the college sponsored ones in late May to July.</p>

<p>Where do the “certificates” go? To the school or to the home? Ds’s school has not yet received anything. And no letter here at home either.</p>

<p>My D received a letter (Saturday) from NMSC stating that she was a finalist. It was mailed to our home. I believe letters were mailed on the 6th. If your daughter did not receive a letter stating otherwise, then its likely that she has qualified as finalist. Others have posted that they called NM to confirm, maybe try that. :slight_smile: </p>

<p>At Christendom College, if someone is a national merit scholarship finalist, even if they did not choose it as their number 1 choice, they will get a full-tuition scholarship. <a href=“http://www.christendom.edu/aid/index.php”>http://www.christendom.edu/aid/index.php&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
