<p>My understanding is that you can choose not to accept the award. I would definitely double check with the school(s) in question. Also I think some schools require you to list them as first choice in some NMS paperwork in order to get the money from them. Again this is what I am hearing 2nd hand from others so check it out with a source that knows for sure. I know our State Us have admissions counsellors that work specifically with NM scholars so check out your schools and see if they have something similar.</p>
