National Merit Finalist Scholarship

I know that NEU offers full-tuition scholarships to National Merit Finalists. I was designated an NMF earlier this year. However, with my admission decision, I was given a $12,000 scholarship instead of a full one.

I want to know: will I automatically be bumped up to full tuition if I submit my NMF first choice school to be NEU or is the process competitive? Thanks!

There are a number of current threads on this.

The process is not competitive. If you select NEU as your top choice, you will receive it. If you’re not sure everything’s in place, call admissions.

Is the honors program also automatic? Son was accepted to NEU today but no mention of the honors program. He is NMF also. If he notifies NEU that NEU is his first choice school will he be admitted into the honors program?

Honors does go with NM. I believe that this should be added when NEU adds the NM scholarship after making it his first choice.

NM son was admitted last night. He got the Honors program letter and 14K which, from what I’ve read here and on the NE website, would be replaced by full tuition if NE is “the one”. We had to scroll down to view the H program letter, so if you didn’t see it the first time, it might be worth a second look…
