Does FSU recognize National Merit Finalists with any type of scholarships/ financial aid? D has already received OOS tuition waiver. We just don’t want to list FSU on the college selection choice and miss out on an offer from another school. We cannot find any information about NMF on their website. UCF’s offer is awesome!
I vaguely remember hearing that FSU was not pursuing National Merit scholars as much as they used to. I would definitely check with FSU directly to confirm if they offer anything for this.
Yes. Son is NMF and put FSU as the first choice on the NMF application. FSU only gives a $500 scholarship for NMF, but once that was offered he automatically qualified for the Florida Incentive Scholarship. This pays for everything not covered by Bright Futures, so he’s getting a free ride. FSU also gave them their own money in a separate scholarship. There’s a thread on the UF forum with more info about FIS.
@brown123 didn’t see that you were OOS, FIS is instate only. You should contact admissions.
are they telling yout that FIS is good for all the years of school, or does it have to be approved by state of Florida annually?
