National merit finalists get in automatically?

<p>someone told me in my school that UT accepts anyone that is a national merit finalist?</p>

<p>is this true? i know its probably not an official policy.</p>

<p>The only people who get in automatically are top 10% in state. But for practical purposes, I bet the vast majority of NMFs get in.</p>

<p>THey give in-state tuition to NMF's, I know.</p>

<p>I do hope that NMFs get in automatically. We may be counting on that! GPA is 3.7, not stellar, I suppose, and may give UT-A pause, but we are out of state, and hopefully that will help. Also, her high school doesn't rank.</p>
