National Merit Finalists

I was wondering if the University of Chicago gives all its National Merit finalists scholarships if they have listed the school as their first choice on the scholarship application.

How much does UChicago give?
And if UChicago doesn't give all its finalists money, what percentage of finalists are given money?

all finalists get money if they indicate uchic as their first choice institution and don't accept any other nm-sponsored scholarship.

i think the money is 1000-2500 buckaroos, depending on financial need.

My son got $1,000.00 a year, renewable for four years. They just took it off the tuition bill.

Well that still leaves $45,000 to worry about :(.

Better than 46,000, right?

i just found out i'm getting 2,000 a year. but its national merit through my parent's corporation... don't know if we're talking about the same thing.

Some of the National Merit scholarships are distributed through private companies. If that is what you have been awarded, I don't think you will be eligible for any further National Merit award, including through a university. At least, that is how I read the info on the National Merit web site.

Yeah, I think midmo is right. Corporate scholarships are worth more, I think. Or at least it appears to me that way.
