<p>i don't think they notify you until september of your senior year.</p>
<p>You can call the National Merit people and ask them and they will tell you. If you were not selected, you probably would have received a letter in January telling you that.</p>

<p>You find out if you are a semi-finalist around September of your senior year - then you find out around now if you are a finalist.</p>
<p>I found out I was a NM finalist at school two days ago.</p>
<p>Did you find out that you were a finalist from school or did you get info in the mail? The NM website says that "In February, some 15,000 Semifinalists will be notified by mail at their home addresses that they have advanced to Finalist standing", but I havn't received anything in the mail, nor heard anything from school</p>
<p>no one at my school has gotten anything either, so don't be scared yet.</p>
<p>I found out from school (I guess they notify them first?); I haven't gotten a letter in the mail at home yet. If you haven't heard, that's probably a good thing. I think they notified the people that didn't make finalist a couple weeks ago (the other NMSF at my school was rejected about two weeks ago).</p>
