There may already be a thread about this and if so, I apologize for making a new one. But has anyone found out about nmsc $2500 winners yet? The corporation said they would send the letters out by march 25 I believe. So i figured some people would have gotten theirs by now. If anyone has, please let me know. And if there is already a different discussion about this, if someone would just redirect me to that I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

There’s a letter sitting here for my D. but she’s out of town.

oh I’m sure thats a good thing. They don’t send out rejections for quite awhile I believe. Where are you from?

North Central Florida.

DS got one yesterday - we’re only three hours from Evanston, though.

I know people who have received this year’s awards.

The 2010 winners will get a letter next march, correct?

Winners from high school class of 2010? Yes, they will see letters in March 2010.

DD2 received her letter today offering a corporate award. Even though it’s less than she would get from the college it feels nice.

Very happy. Son received one of the $2500 scholarships from the Nat Merit corporation.

Turns out they HAVE to list a college when they send you the award. So, even if you had sent in a change to “undecided”, they send out the award with the former location’s name. Said it was a limitation of their system.

You have about 10 days after receipt to accept or decline the award.

Making sure that the places he is considering will take the award and not lower some other amount of $$ to make up for it. Since this is money from “outside” the university’s, it should be incrementally more $$ so that’s a good thing.

Now if he can just decide where to go and what he wants to do!

Any student from Alabama received the $2500 NMSC award yet?
