What to do if you have lost your letter from about your status in the National Merit Scholarship competition, and a college requires it as evidence? Is there a way to get a second copy?

Call or write to:

Kind of an unrelated question, but does anyone know where I can get a list of the colleges that sponsor merit scholarship awards? I can't find the list they sent with the semifinalist packet anywhere, and haven't had much luck on the internet either.

Here is the link to the 2006 annual report where you can find info of the colleges that sponsor the award.

has anyone heard about finalists yet? I haven't heard anything since I was notified that I'm a semi-finalist and sent in the form. I've chosen a school that doesn't sponser it (stupidstupidstupid), but I'm still hoping for that $2500.

ah, I just read in a previous thread that some people have been notified of finalist status. I haven't heard anything, so I assume I'm SOL? Shouldn't they have at least told me that I'm not a finalist?

If you are a finalist, you should have received a letter at home some time ago. Your school should have received a letter about a week before that.

On other threads, there was some toing and froing about students who did not advance being notified that they had not advanced, but I am not sure about the details.

Search threads from the last six weeks or so. I think you'll find information about calling to determine whether you are a finalist.

Good luck.

bummer. thanks for the info!
