national merit scholarships

Did anybody get this or know more about it?

I'm a national merit semifinalist with Fordham as my top choice. I couldn't find any details on Fordham's web site. Are their other requirements besides being a semifinalist?

Thanks!

I think National Merit Scholarships are administered by the College Board and National Merit Committee and not individual schools. But if you are, Fordham will know about it. Fordham considers scholarships automatically for everyone who comes in the door as no special applications are required. Good luck.

The college board does administer smaller scholarships. But Fordham has its own full tuition scholarships given to semifinalists in the top 10 percent of their class. I'm wondering if there are other stipulations or if only a certain number of students get the scholarship, etc. I guess I'm just wondering my chances of getting it.
Thanks, though!

If you are a national merit semifinalist and top 10% of your class and presumably a high SAT, then congratulations! I strongly encourage kids from outside the Connecticut, New York and New Jersey region to apply to Fordham and to attend if admitted. Its a great school and lots of fun.

You will be considered for scholarships when your application is received. I have no idea if you will get one and how much they will offer. If you need financial assistance be sure and apply for financial aid as well.

Good luck!
