National Merit

lol that's a huge team! The girls team in my school has maybe 10 people, lol. We practice in Central Park and run meets in Van Cortlandt park in the Bronx (huge hills ughh)

we have cross country that runs in 110 degree weather! whoooo!!!!!

eeesh, heat stroke anyone?
Our winter track team runs in snow though =/

I'm commended

"The alternate way to qualify is by sending in a set of SAT I scores and the SAT II Writing score "

Wow. I didn't know that was an option. What is the cutoff for sending those scores in. I just took the PSAT a few weeks ago but have the SAT and Writing SAT II from the sophmore test.

No she said you can only do that if you weren't able to take your PSATs

Well if I had known that I wouldn't have taken the PSAT!!!

I'm commended.

No but I think you had to have missed the PSAT for a reason, not just because.

turkeybreath98, my guess is that one has to have a reason behind missing the PSAT, but I don't really know - my school handled it.

yea i think if its a major school conflict thats how they fix it if you cant reschedule a new make up test day

I'm a semifinalist

Question: I'm sure that I'm Commended, but haven't gotten a letter. When did/Have they sent out the letters?

1.2% of the test-takers become NM seminfinalists. (And that would be "most" applicants to Ivies?)

(Just wondering)

What does it mean? I found out when I received a letter from a college congratulating me. How come I never received a letter or email from the College board?

How did you guys find out?

from my school counselor. I didn't get an official letter or anything, just the application for finalist from school.
