National Merit

Does it really matter who you send it to (in terms of applicant interest at places like Ivies)? Or would it be smarter to send it to schools that give full rides to NMF if the top tier schools could not care less? Also, since I had the chance to refer my name for National Merit, I know I'm going to get the chance when National Achievement rolls around. Would it make sense to change up the schools at this point when I get to refer my name again?

If you're relatively certain of being a semifinalist, the choice of which two schools to have the recommendation sent to is less important. NMSF status on an application carries a lot more weight. The recommendation would be an indicator of interest to institutions that give consideration to interest in the admissions process.

I'm as certain as one could be I am going to be a semifinalist (226)....also, anyone hear to backup the claim?
