National Merit?

Pomona is on the list of colleges that sponsor national merit scholarships, but their website doesn't give any information about how much they offer or even confirm that they do participate in national merit... does anyone know for sure?

From the Pomona financial aid website FAQ's

Does Pomona offer merit scholarships?
Financial Aid is awarded strictly on the basis of financial need; the College does not offer merit scholarships.

Other Claremont schools such as CMcK do offer Merit scholarships including college sponsored National Merit ones.

Sorry I don't have a reference for you, but I remember digging for this info last year, and learning that Pomona had 6 NM scholarships to offer ($1 or 2k per year). No special application process, obviously very competitive, as I assume a large number of NMF's apply there.

It could be that my info came from a National Merit listing of how many each college actually awarded - so that wouldn't necessarily show up on the Pomona website.
