<p>Im not really sure how the national merit thing works for the PSAT, how long do you have to wait until you find out if youre a NMS? I took the PSATs in october 2004 (going into senior year this september) and i want to know if i can find out about NMS before i start sending out apps</p>

<p>If you're a semifinalist, you should find out about it any time now from your HS. You'll get an application to fill out and an essay to write. If you make finalist status (15K/16K semifinalists do), you'll find out in February.</p>
