<p>I would think that NMSF would be marked as a "national" recognition on the Common App, but the Common App webiste says, "Commended Scholar and National Merit Semifinalist recognition are both appropriately designated as State/Regional honors." Is ths standard?</p>
<p>I believe that’s because the score cut-off for those awards varies by state and it’s not really a “national” award until Finalist/Scholar level.</p>
