<p>Well... It's really based on memorization - no reasoning is really involved, like Jeopardy. Reading science textbooks and marking down every key fact is good.</p>
<p>Also, if you have people on your team who take studying Earth Science and Astronomy seriously, you're bound to do pretty well. This is because those classes are seldom taught to high school students, so if you're playing against a Sci Bowl team that is shaky in those subjects (very probable), you'll probably win the round just on the basis of those types of questions.</p>

we know basically no earth sci or astronomy, and my team only lost to one other team in the whole regional competition</p>
<p>to study- ummmm i dont really know. just pay attention in science class all through hs.</p>
<p>I never said that NOT knowing earth sci or astronomy would kill you. I just said that it would be good to know it to have that extra edge that so few schools have.</p>
