National Science Olympiad

How much importance do colleges put on individual medals at National Science Olympiad?

Does anyone know?

Cmon people, 430 views and no opinions?

C’mon sciolyers!

This applies to all awards

National (Top 10 or so) - Awesome, probably a hook
State (Top 5 or so) - Will help your admission chances a fair amount
Regional, qualifying for invitationals, etc - A good thing to have, but won’t necessarily help you directly. Colleges will know that you are a reasonably smart guy.

Lol, okay. Thanks for your input! Bump.

Does anyone who did SciOly know?

You could try asking on the pages of colleges that interest you. For example, on the Stanford page, askance more specific question about science Olympiad and Stanford admissions. If you have a placing you can share that may be helpful. I am sure many participate and can comment.

Will do, thank you!
