I just got nominated to join the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and was wondering if anyone is in it or heard of it?

Is it a big deal?

And most importantly, is it worth my $75 for a lifetime membership?

in a year from now, you're not gonna remember it until someone posts a thread asking if they should join... ;)
i judged by the number of apparently redundant such organizations that all they wanted was my money, so i passed xD

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars is indeed a "legitimate" organization. Your current college campus most likely has a chapter. Check it out. Second, go to the NSCS website to see if you would even be remotely interested now and post-college regarding their services to members. For instance, the NSCS website is another avenue for job postings to employers. A year or so ago, one College Confidential Board poster (don't remember who) described how he took tremendous advantage of the NSCS opportunities through his campus chapter (such as attending national conferences), etc. So - again - NSCS is a legit organization. You just have to answer to yourself whether you would ever use their services other than listing membership on your resume.

yeh i read up on them and know about the benefits you just described, thanks for letting me know about someone elses experience with them, that was pretty much what i was looking for

it doesn't worth the money haha
you can always put that on ur resume that u were nominated. You don't get anything by joining.

Heard of it, sounds useless to me.
