Got this letter saying I was nominated for this. Says it's for fresh/sophs. Anybody else get it? Is it legitimate, or is like that stupid who's who high school? How many people get nominated?

I saw another thread on this somewhere on CC just recently, dont remember which forum

I don't know, but I joined it and paid the fee. I think it's top 15 percent or something like that, top 20% maybe?

you PAID?? isn't it kind of fishy when they tell you to PAY $$?
well i got this thing, and i don't remember what it was called, but they wanted me to pay $40, and i was like.. HELL NOOOOO im not paying for anything!

I thought it sounded like a scam (National Honor Society, anyone?) so I just trashed it.

there's a facebook group with the same name --> semi-reputable?

I posted the same question about a week back.

I really don't know...

well this one's not $40, it's $75, which is pretty pricey.. it seems legit but is it worth actually joining?

they are holding a meeting this Thursday, May 6th at 6:30 PM in 220 Wheeler. i guess if you're thinking about joining, go and ask some questions and find out what it's all about.

Hmm, it was my dad's credit card so who cares.

Anyway, I joined another one. It's called "Golden Key international honor society," which I've actually previously heard about.

I think it's for people with junior and senior status and in the top 15% of your class.

Have you guys heard of this too? Is this legitimate?

(And how is 40 dollars even that much? geeeeeeez..u pay 1100 bucks a month dorming)

"it was my dad's credit so who cares."

lol :D

NeedAdvice: well, in that sense $40 isn't all that much, but I wouldn't really want to throw the $ away in the air without getting nothing out of it..
why spend $40 for no reason when you can do something that actually benefits you??? hmmmm? seriously.

nah there is a benefit, even if slight: graduate school applications. At least they'd realize you were in honor societies.

if i weren't applying to grad school though, i might have not joined.

ur funny needadvice
