National Student Exchange Program

hey ya'll! so I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this, because everyone seems really into the name brand colleges, but has anyone who is considering transferring looked into the National Student exchange program? (<a href="http://www.nse.org)%5B/url%5D">http://www.nse.org)</a>. It seems really interesting. It's a nonprofit programsthat includes over 200 colleges and universities (almost all are public and in the US), where students can exchange campuses for a maximum of a year while paying their initial campus's tuition. It is kind of like study abroad minus the abroad.

I'm a freshman now and I really dislike my current univeresity, so I ws considering transferring for fall 2008, but unfortunately, money is a huge issue for me and many colleges don't offer scholarships for transfer students. When I heard my university was part of NSE, I thought it might be a really good option for me, since I can go to another campus (although only for a year), while paying my current tuition. That way, I can see if it is my school I have a promlem with or college life in general. Plus, If I end up really liking the university I exchange to, then I can always end up transferring there knowing that it's a good fit for me. I think NSE is a really unique and interesting idea. The only downside is that most of the better universities are not on the list, and it includes many third and fourth tier universities.

Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone has either participated in or has considered NSE as a temporary replacement for transferring. I would love to hear everyone's opinions on such a program.
