I've gotten placed on the NWL after obtaining four nominations (House, Senate, President, ROTC). I was also told I was second in my congressional district. I don't understand why this happened, but there's not much I can do now. How many people does West Point take per year from the NWL? In my letter, it said several hundred. It also says in my letter to continue to send in materials to get a better chance at getting in. I figure I should send materials in, but I was wondering about peoples' experience with the NWL and any advice people may have. Thanks!

Skirbyy, don't give up hope. At all. I've also heard 150/year off the NWL - many times in May.

The advice to keep sending in stuff is really important. Your WCS is competing with all the other WCS's out there - each thing that you do that will crank up your score by a few points will help.

Good luck!

skirbyy,

Kate's advice is excellent. Keep your file updated. Maybe ask your MALO what would be the best thing you could do to improve your score?

Also, I'm not sure if the final decision has been made on increasing the number of the Corps. If so, I can only guess that more appointments will come off the NWL.

Good luck!! We're pulling for you.
