You most probably can. I was invited to the law one (oh goodness, I have no interest in law at all) and I switched to medicine. Went to the one in Boston in 07. Pretty fun I suppose.

Carissa: np! ;)

diamondbacker...are they related programs? if so...it shouldn't be a big deal to switch ur program as long as they're being paid enough....well..I hate to put it this way..but this is how it is (at least what I think).

If you can get over the extremely ridiculous prices that probably keep the pool of applicants/admitees in the upper class, it sounds decent.

Honestly, it sucks. I know people who went and they said it wasn't worth the money. Also, it's not well-known or well-respected. If you want to do something like this that's good and worth it - People to People. Look that up on google. People to People Student Ambassador Programs. They have programs for all sorts of interests in all different kinds of places. I'm going to one. It's well-known and well-respected.

...Who told you People-To-People was well-respected?

Talk about too much buck for not enough bang. You spend well over $5,000 and all you do is the tourist-y stuff. I'd much rather do AFS and actually get to live with a family and experience the culture and the behind-the-scenes stuff.

moviefreak126-again, you know people who went. Trust me, if you went your tune would change. I'll bet you a good deal of money those people only went because they thought it would look good on their college applications-which is NO REASON to go to a summer program. I put NYLC and LeadAmerica on mine, but it certainly wasn't the dominant thing. And both were the experience of a lifetime. The people you know who went were in it for the wrong reasons; that's why they had a horrible time.

And honestly, People to People (I was invited as well) is just another one of those "if you can pay you can go" programs.

Not to say that NYLF isn't kinda the same thing. But I know that NYLC and LeadAmerica both at least offer scholarships. You have to work for the LeadAmerica one, but at least you can get it. People To People, all they do is tell you to beg people for money. No thanks.

Do they give full scholarships?
