Does anyone have experience or information about National Youth Leadership Forum on Law, Medicine, Collegiate success and National Security, which apparently is through nomination for high school students by counselor at school? We just received the preliminary nomination letter(our son got nominated by his school counselor) and are wondering about the genuineness and usefulness of attending the forum at Washington, DC especially during November with senior year in school in full swing and most likely at our expense! Any comments or advice would be highly appreciated. By the way, our son is an incoming senior now, applying to colleges this year.

Use the search function because this question comes up a lot. Short answer: It’s not an exclusive, competitive program. It won’t impress colleges. If you’ve got the money and your kid has time, it may be a nice experience.

Thanks NorthStar Mom. Coming from you, that decides it for us.
