Native Americans at Stanford

Hi! I'm a rising junior and am currently narrowing down my choices, seeing that I will be applying early. Stanford has always been a dream of mine, but the more I look at the stats from the 2017 applicant profile the worse I'm feeling my chances are.
I have strong ECs and will have great recs, as well as a current score of 2120 on my SAT (hopefully will be close to 2300 by the end of this year), but I go to an IB school and am a struggling full diploma candidate leaving my GPA a little lackluster compared to some of the ones I've seen.
That being said I am Native American, I wanted to reach out and see if there are any Native Americans or people who know Natives that have been accepted to Stanford. I know it is known for its diversity and therefore I can't tell how much my ethnicity will help boost my application. Any knowledge would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

My D just graduated and while she is not Native American, she is Native Hawaiian. Stanford considers Native American, Native Hawaiian and Native Alaskan part of the Native group. I believe there were approximately 75 Natives admitted in her class.

I am convinced being URM gave her an advantage in admissions. To what extent, I have no way of knowing. Her stats were excellent as well as her ECs and recommendations.
Being Native American (as long as you can prove it) will help but you also must be a stellar applicant. My D applied RD since she felt her application was not ready for SCEA.

She was active in the Native community while at Stanford. Her Big Sister was also Native Hawaiian. When she got a Little Sister, she was Native American.

Best of luck! Stanford is amazing!

Thanks so much for your helpful insight! The general consensus seems to be that it is pretty amazing. Hopefully I’ll be able to secure a place there too! Thanks again!
