I am a Native American enrolled in my tribe. I have contacted Vanderiblt about this (because something was misrepresented on my CommonApp) and asked if they wanted additional documentation. They said no, but were glad to hear from me (i.e., they didn't seem annoyed).
This is all well and good, but I just feel like checking a box on the CA does not fully explain my heritage. I spoke about it a bit in the "additional information" section, but I feel like they should know more. Stanford is the only other school to which I am applying that has something that I can elaborate on my heritage (supplemental essays that lead to you as a person and they said they will be sending me an "additional info. request" in which I will expand on my heritage). Furthermore, Vandy does not have any supplemental essays like Stanford (in which I expanded on my heritage a bit).
So, a current undergrad suggested I write a short explanation of my heritage and send it to Vanderbilt. Does this sound just annoying or something that admissions would read and be thankful for because it would explain my background a bit more?

Thanks for the read!
