Hello, I am new to this website and I have a question about the Preliminary Application for the Naval Academy. I am a junior in high school right now and I have been told that I need to start the application process immediately. I checked the USNA website and it seems I have missed the deadline for Preliminary Applications which were due January 31. Have I ruined any chance I had to get into the Naval Academy? Is there any way to still submit an Application? Am I too early/late in this process? Thank you.
The 1/31 deadline is for current seniors. You are fine. If you can swing it, you should apply to the NASS (Naval Academy Summer Seminar), a 1-week summer camp where rising seniors live and experience life as a midshipman.
I just received news of my appointment today and (unfortunately) did not attend NASS. Didn’t hurt me in anyway, but I wish I could have went! I would consider Summer STEM as well
My son is a rising Senior and did not apply for NASS because it ran into finals week for him. His friend did attend and loved the experience. My son did the preliminary app a few weeks ago. We are going to visit the campus this summer.
Congrats deswo2!
Our DD’18 attended NASS earlier this month and loved it.
Way to go @deswo2 !
Start applying the summer after your junior year. Try to be done with the application by October!
DD’18 had her Blue & Gold interview Saturday. It lasted 1 1/2 hours! She reported that it went well.
