Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering

Hello, does anyone know how well ranked or how reputable/good the Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering program is at the Universtiy of Michigan-Ann Arbor? USNews doesn't seem to rank this major among its undergraduate engineering programs.

Thanks!

you cant go wrong with michigan engineering

lmao Although I completely agree with bearcats, maybe someone should expound on that.

Well, architecture is probably where Naval architecture falls under, it’s probably just a concentration. So choosing a school with a good architecture program is best.

Next

If, I’m not mistaken Marine engineering is just mechanical engineering with a concentration. Well UMich is definitely the best school for Mechanical Engineering. (a little biased but mostly true.)

Here is some more information of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, which UMich offers together:

[Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NA&ME) at the University of Michigan](http://www.engin.umich.edu/dept/name/)

This is another school that offers the program, but I don’t much about this school.
[Webb Institute of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering | Welcome to Webb Institute!](http://www.webb-institute.edu/)

The only reason I highly recommend UMich is because you get the luxury of the name and the option of the major, rather than majoring in mechanical engineering in some other school and then later on forcing yourself to go to graduate school and focus on marine engineering then.

Naval architecture is engineering, not architecture.
