I participate in the JROTC program at my school. We were named a Naval Honor school last year. My SMI recommended me for a nomination through the program. On the Navy website it says "20 appointments" are available through this nomination. On the Candidate Server under nominations it says "Naval Honor School- received Oct. 19th" (I just saw it). Does this mean they recieved the paperwork or that I recieved the nomination? And does anyone know what it means in correlation to the 20 appointments offered?
Any clarification is appreciated. Thanks :)

You have the nomination-an appointment is a different matter. If it comes it will come later. Good luck.

when my candidate server said "Presdiential Recieved July 26, that indeed meant I recieved a Presidential Nomination. Assuming that the Candidate Server does the same for all nominations, congradulations APan5, you just recieved a Naval Honor School Nomination.

Apan - congrats! Your SMI must be a 20 year guy. My kid got one of these as well and about this same time of year. I think its safe to say that you've indeed received a nomination and are now competitive for an appointment. No worries now on the part of gaining a nomination. Now on to the appointment kid!! Thats pretty awesome that your unit received Naval Honor school last year. Must have been one heck of an annual review. Sweet! Keep us all informed! We have our fingers crossed for you!!

Yeah I was wondering that too when I had "Presidential" listed under Nominations on my CIS. I asked Admissions directly about it, and they said that anything listed there is a nomination you've received, so congratulations! -shawna

Thanks for the replies everyone! Congrats to everyone out there with LOAs and such. Hopefully Ill see you all on I-Day.

GO NAVY!

Congrats to everyone! Hang on tight for the "big one"!!
