Does anyone know when you’re supposed to apply for NROTC scholarships at your local or state college? Also, should I apply for this scholarship at the same time I apply for the naval academy? Is it competitive? What will increase my chances? What other schools than Georgia Tech and Georgia State have NROTC in Georgia? I need information on NROTC in general. I have checked the websites of Georgia Tech’s NROTC, but I just want confirmation. Any tips and advice will help. Thanks.
You can start he process during the spring of your Junior year, so in other words, yes, you should apply for these scholarships at the same time your USNA app. In fact, you USNA admissions portal will say that certain information you have already submitted on your USNA app can also be used for NROTC, so you don’t have to redundantly fill out info. I believe U of North Georgia has a big ROTC unit. Also, all the same things that will increase your chances for USNA will increase your chances for NROTC, as NROTC still is competitive, especially if you are looking to receive a 4 year scholarship.
