Navy BDCP

Hey guys, im a freshman mech e major at RPI and they just had their career fair. At the fair i saw a Navy booth and i went over and got some info on the Baccalaureate Degree Completion Program.

It sounded pretty nice with up to $4000 income a month while in college while the navy pays some of my tution. But, I want to know if there is anything else I should know about, has anyone done it before? How was it?

I know I have to serve for four years after, would that affect my ability to get a job if I am absent from the job market for the four years I serve?

Thanks in advance

Unless you actually want to work in the military I would avoid it. Like you said you have to serve for four years after. Unless you actually want to work in the military that's four years of your life with little choice of where you work or what kind of work you do. They will always make it appear glamorous at the career fair but you need to decide if that's the kind of life you want.

Get a pilot slot and your set! I would sell my soul for a pilot slot.
