Has anyone recently gone through the Navy NUPOC program? I'm considering this option and going in as a nuclear school instructor. Can anyone give me any tips or something you wish you had known before going in? Thanks!

Sorry to see that no one responded to this in a more timely fashion.
The Nuclear Power School Instructor position has a lot of tremendous benefits, including living in Charleston SC which is a great city, getting paid quite well and paid to finish school in the meantime, and earning GI Bill benefits which will pay for one or more advanced degrees after you are done.
A few notes that you and others considering the program should be aware of: Unlike other NUPOC positions, the instructor jobs are for Five years only. If you wanted to stay in the Navy after this you would need to do a “Lateral Transfer” to another community (like Intelligence, Supply, Meteorology, Engineering Duty Officer, Foreign Affairs Officer, etc.). Also you should be aware that all NUPOC positions entail a 5 year contract.
