Appointment
I am a big music and outdoors guy

Hey Congrats Mike and welcome. Sure hope you can play some dee-fence. You'll be worth your ample weight in gold, although there was a glimmer of hope in the bowl contest.

navyfootball:
will all due respect...
you are going to want to "fly beneath the radar"....
might as well start the process now.
The last thing your want is for your summer cadre to be waiting for the 4-time AA from St Elsewhere to show up for morning pep.....
trust me, they will care less about where you ranked...scholastically, athletically or otherwise.
All they care about is that you come physically fit, ready, willing and able to listen, keeping your mouth shut and your eyes in the boat!

sizing up the competetion - or the "peer group" now is ill advised, IMO.
name, state...all good!
the rest: you will be a plebe, and anything else "doesn't matter".

Best of luck!

Here is all the relavent info you might need:

Your last name

The fact that you're motivated

Your state and hometown

Names, states, and hometowns of everyone in your platoon, of course that'd be impossible to find now.

Congratulations though on the appointment. Yes, we could use some defence.

NavyFootball

Navy2010 is so correct. Personally know one major recruit from last year who thought football would get him through (protect him ... whatever you want to call it) Bottom line Plebe Summer is not about football, nor for this young man was first semester as a Plebe - he has now transferred to another school to play football. Bottom line is you better want The Academy, The US Navy or Marines, not just the football or it will not end the way maybe you had dreamed.

I think he was just looking for friends with similar interests. Not for the things listed by the folks above. However there is good information there to absorb as well.

finding friends = a good thing.
but delete the "rankings."
they will rank you every which way imaginable when you get there.

hometown, state, areas of interest: all good.
consider the rest on a "need to know" basis only!

profmom- will share another one with you....
said plebe reported in, all 6ft 2 inches of him.
forgot his laws of the navy.
repremanded by the cadre, all 4ft 2 inches of her.
took his reef points away from him she did.
"you lacrosse players are all alike."
"sir, yes sir."
SHE was not amused.
(me thinks she may have dated one in the past!)

week or 2 later:
"are all you lacrosse players retarded?"
"sir, yes sir."
happily, this time a good chuckle by all and that was the end of that!
