I am wondering if anyone has heard back either way on a Navy ROTC Scholarship application?
My son applied for a Navy ROTC scholarship last Nov 2014. His stats are 3.7 GPA and 1350 CR/M SAT (700 Math score). While his stats are good, we know he is probably borderline for the scholarship since they are very competitive.
Yes, DS was notified in October that he had won a scholarship.
Midwestern heart-- congrats! Thanks for the reply. Best to your son.
Just a note of encouragement. If your DS doesn’t get the scholarship now, it is not the end. He should go on to school and join the NROTC unit as a college programmer. Then next fall apply for the scholarship over again. He shouldn’t have enough college credits to disqualify him, and he’ll have a “record” with the unit. My DS did this and just received notification – woot! In addition, most units have sideload scholarships to give out to the college program midshipmen who impress. Best of luck, and don’t give up!
