Navy ROTC Scholarships

The results of the Navy ROTC board that met on 13-17 November 2006 have been made public. Navy recruiters are notifying the successful candidates and the results are also availabel on the ROTC web site.

I logged in, but it my status says "No decision has been made on your application." I guess I didn't make the cuttoff? However, I just now sent them some better ACT scores. Hopefully that'll help my application.

The board meets once a month. They will review your file at each board. That's why it is important to get your apps in early to have more reviews of your file. If your file is completed in August, you have an opportunity to have your file reviewed several times. Those who complete their files at the last minute will probably only get one or two reviews by the board. The early bird gets the worm.

i just found out today. got my first choice, University of Texas

I also heard today and got my first choice, University of Texas.

cool^^^ do you live in Austin? if so, what school do you go to?

EDIT: nvm "Location: OK"

Your application is at Naval Education and Training Command for final processing and selection determination. Selection decisions will begin in late August and continue until the end of April. Once a selection decision has been made, your new status will be reflected.

Dang. I guess I got to wait a little longer...

Answer: No. You need to receive an offer of admission based on your own merit.

Missing Items
All required items have been processed.

Selection Status
No decision has been made on your application.

lol that can't be good.

I got one to my 1st choice UVA.
Anyone know how much this affects chances of getting into that school?

It should hold some weight in the schools admissions process. Why would the CNET board members nominate you to the 4 year scholarship in the first place if they thought you didn't have a chance to be accepted to Cornell. It would be stupid if they thought you wouldn't have a chance in **** to get in. Mention the scholarship to admissions and it might be the difference when they review it when they start thinking about the money prospect $$$$$$$$$ (One less student that the loan department won't have to worry about).

any suggestions of where to mention this detail?

Mention it in your attributes or accomplishments section of your application. Something to the affect of the some 18,000 candidates competing for a nrotc scholarship I was honored by the U.S. Navy to be one of the 1,900 awarded a 4 year scholarship to the college of my first choice, yours. Thats every bit as equally impressive as NHS, Eagle Scout, Boys State so on and so forth. Or if you already sent in your application contact the admissions office as you would USNA to update any accomplishments.
