<p>Mids Tabbed to Place Second in Tennis Poll</p>
<p>CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- The Navy tennis team totaled 65 points and received five first-place votes to place second in the 2007 Patriot League Preseason Poll, which consisted of votes cast by the league's head coaches and sports information contacts.</p>
<p>Army, winner of the 2006 Patriot League Tournament title, placed first in the balloting by totaling 69 points and garnering nine first-place votes. Following the second-place Mids were Bucknell, Colgate and Lehigh, who tallied 43, 42 and 41 points, respectively, to finish in the next three spots. Lafayette placed sixth with 21 points and Holy Cross garnered 13 points to place seventh in the voting.</p>
<p>Navy returns six letterwinners and 10 players from its 2006 team which posted a 14-10 record and advanced to the semifinal round of the league tournament.</p>
<p>The Mids will open their 2007 spring season Jan. 20 with matches against Delaware and Charlotte in Richmond, Va., with the home portion of Navy's schedule slated to begin Jan. 27 with matches against Howard and Mount St. Mary's at the Severn Valley Tennis & Fitness Club.</p>
<p>The 2007 Patriot League Tournament will be held at the Naval Academy April 21-23.</p>
