NC State 2016 Transfers

My friend called and they said they should come out today at 5 really hope this is true

I applied as an out-of-state transfer from Virginia. 3.5 GPA after 58 credits hours of continuous community college. Computer Science major. Legacy applicant (my dad graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering). Born in Raleigh. My release date is also 3/30/16.

My in-state friend who applied as transfer from Wake Tech Community College got her acceptance today, 3/25/2016.

What’s the hold up for me? Unless it’s bad news … :frowning:

Wow so I got an email (in my spam folder) that said "Congratulations on your admission to NC State University! As an accepted transfer student, NC State would like to extend you an invitation to participate in Summer START. As you make the transition from your previous institution, NC State offers you a beneficial academic and co-curricular program during summer session II that will assist in acclimating to NC State. "

But I still have no release date or an official decision on my wolfpaw…check your spam folders everyone…I don’t want to get too excited yet tho

Just checked wolfpaw and decisions are up! Good luck everyone! For reference, 3.78 GPA from cc…philosophy major intent

I forgot to write I was accepted lol…got too excited

It was bad news. Flat out denied.

@bruton what are your stats??

@bruton and what major did you apply to??

So confused. Still no decision date, no decision on the dashboard and no email.

I applied as an out-of-state transfer from Virginia. 3.5 GPA after 58 credits hours of continuous community college. Computer Science major. Legacy applicant (my dad graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering). Born in Raleigh. It’s gonna be really hard to live in my house now.

Dang, Bruton. That sucks. Maybe there was just a bad class or something that you can retake. What about VT? It is an awesome school and campus. I would have guessed that a 3.5 would be good enough for computer science since they say 3.0 minimum. I’ve heard that Legacy doesn’t carry much weight anymore.

@jennie11 do you have a decision yet?

@bruton :frowning:

I got in! I had a 4.0 with 15 credit hours completed at a community college. This is the best day of my life, no joke!

@gracehem congrats!! sooo exciting :smiley:

In. Biology. :slight_smile:

@Gowolfpacks18 – Still no decision or email…

@jennie11 I am not entirely sure what to recommend…hm :confused:

I was given the deny letter “TR General,” so I guess they didn’t really have anything special to tell me …

The only thing I can think of that got me denied is a surge of more qualified applicants out-of-state wanting a limited number of computer science seats. I also don’t have their second Calculus class or first Physics classes completed as I am in the process of taking those now. I’ll take their second Physics class at my community college next semester. I also don’t have either of their Chemistry’s completed; I’ll take those soon too. I do have two Geology’s though but they don’t want Geology courses for a Computer Science major, and I didn’t know when I finished them four semesters ago.

Those are the only things that I can think of that made me less competitive or uncompetitive at all … which honestly if that’s worth declining me over, they must’ve had a lot of apps this year…

@bruton did you apply to any other schools? im shocked you were denied with your stats but i assume that somewhat heavy science majors are more competitive :frowning:
