@smallsdp that graphis is interesting. I wonder why there are so many more in the Senior class than the Freshman class for all the majors. is that because of movement from “undecided” or is it transfer students coming in after freshman year
I think so. Take a look at the fast facts from Exploratory Studies: https://advising.dasa.ncsu.edu/prospective-students/fast-facts/
NCSU posted on twitter that decisions will be released in “about two weeks” (or, actually, they retweeted someone, but I’m not trying to overanalyze it) in case y’all missed it.
They retweeted an Admissions intern.
@shkaufman Design students don’t count, they are historically contacted early, the school even lets you know that if you know where to look on the application. Its a special department that has its own self contained number of slots. It was even on this thread some where. Overseas students are also contacted early. Its just something they have to do.
I got my acceptance letter yesterday
@Moonlight178 stats and major pls. In state or oos?
OOS (Virginia)
Major: Chemistry
Weighted GPA: 4.63
Unweighted GPA: 3.9
SAT: 1420
Class Rank: 7/467
Thanks for sharing. Do you see any changes in the portal now?
The only new thing is that I can accept or decline my offer of admission.
congrats @Moonlight178 ! that’s awesome.
did your acceptance letter come by snail mail or email? thanks.
I got both an email and a snail mail
Are decisions coming out in waves?
Congrats @Moonlight178! Anyone heard anything else, or is he/she an anomaly?
Regular decisions can roll out at any time.
@ZeeMeZeeYou I thought you had said that you were told personally that they wouldn’t release admissions until the 30th. Did something change? That would be fantastic - this waiting game is horrible.
I was told today by admissions all EA decisions are being released on the 30th. Maybe very high stat applicants are hearing earlier.
My son is a current freshman (in state) at NCSU. Historically NC State releases early action on Friday’s around the 20th of January after 5PM. No Irate parents from deferred or declined student parents to deal with for the admissions office on the weekend. Last year my son got his decision on Monday 1/22. (Last year they had snow if I recall in Raleigh and it delayed until Monday.) They said the end of January last year, but decisions were about 10 days earlier. The hurricane delay MIGHT change this, but I’d still keep an eye out in the next few days. Good luck to everyone. State has been an amazingly good choice for my son. By the way some of the high flyer Parks/Robinson scholarship candidates have gotten their acceptance. Go Pack!
My daughter is in class 2021 and her notification came in Friday Jan19, 2017. So we hope to hear today after 5pm
We got our acceptance last year on Jan 22 as well. Good luck and Go Pack!
