Did some of you apply to the Honors Program (submitted that extra essay) when you applied EA? When do we hear more about Honors admissions? Also, does NC state also send a physical, snail mail welcome pack, or is all material online. Thanks, and congrats to everyone admitted!

My son did- from what I found it looks like notifications came out in April last year.
My daughter applied a few years ago and as of the there was the portal notification followed by a mailed acceptance a week or so later. I would assume it’s still the same.

According to the Honors Program FAQ:

Q. If I decide to apply, when will I know if I am accepted into the University Honors or University Scholars Program?
A. Notification Date – Approximately 2 weeks after NC State’s regular admissions decisions are released, via your wolfPAW account.

Regular admissions released by Mar 30, so expect mid-April.

Thanks! How about stuff arriving in snail mail, welcome letters, etc. Does NC State send old-school fat envelopes of info or is it only/all online?

When my D18 was accepted to NC State, I recall a nice welcome folder of information arriving in the mail a couple weeks later.

Virginia Tech vs. NC State CS for OOS. Compare and contrast. Anyone have direct experience or insights?

Guys I was accepted and I saw this on my portal “ Final acceptance is contingent on your maintaining a level of academic performance that is equal to or better than your previous academic record.” Does that mean I got a conditional offer?
I take IB and I got a predicted grade of 39/45 so in the real IB if I get 35 would they revoke my offer ?
Would appreciate anyone’s opinion

I don’t think that’s conditional, I have the same thing on mine too

Don’t worry, I got the same message! I think it means just don’t fail your classes. You will be fine!! :))

On the portal, did any other in-state students have their tuition residency listed as out of state? I went back and checked my common app to make sure I said in-state and I did.

Yes! I thought I was the only one. I called them about it too and they said it doesnt have any effect on your app but im still sketch abt it.
Did you get accepted?

Yes I was accepted! I’m mainly nervous because I hope the same mistake wasn’t made for UNC (where being OOS hurts you substantially) and hoping it wasn’t some application mistake on my part

Mine did. I am in state but was listed OSS. I just figured they made a mistake as I checked the residency website and it does say I am in state. Kind of glad I am not alone in this. Will call tomorrow to check and will update.

Do you have a residency certification number listed below that section? My son’s shows in state and the residency certification number from CFNC is listed below.

Yes the RCN number is listed and it is correct. But I am listed as OOS below that. Weird.

Same thing happening with me and the number is correct as well.

Hey, I just wanted to leave my stats for anyone applying next year. (I got in)
ACT: 32
Weighted GPA: 4.5625
Unweighted GPA: 4.0
12 Total APs for all four years
Major: Bio with human bio intent
In-state, wake county, large school
Top 3% of class
Participated in various in-school clubs and other extracurricular activities. HOWEVER, I tried to really hone in on my skills instead of doing a super wide variety of activities. I made it clear that that skill was one of my passions, and I feel like it helped set me apart from others who might’ve had similar stats.
Good luck!! To those who have been deferred, I’m rooting for you!
