Well I tried on the NC State thread but got no response so I thought I'd try here. Has anyone had or heard of a child getting the Goodnight Scholarship at NS State? If so, can you tell me a little more about it? The info the the NC State site is very breif. Just wondering because my D is up for this scholarship.

Did you see this already?

It sounds like a great opportunity,mamagx3. Good luck to your D. As I recall from another post, NCSU was not her top choice. Would winning the Goodnight sway her?

Thanks, noimagination! I did not see that. We didn’t receive much info about it when they emailed her so I was curious and couldn’t find anything. Guess I didn’t look hard enough.

PackMom: NC State is quickly becoming her first choice. Getting the Goodnight scholarship would make it a slam dunk for NC State. She’s also applied for a CALS scholarship, so we’re hoping for the best. D is very familiar with NCSU since her big brother went there and many of her HS friends will be going there too.

I’m a recipient of the Goodnight Scholarship and the Chancellor’s Leadership Scholarship at NCSU. Honestly the Goodnight Scholarship is one of the best things that has happened to me. I get priority registration which means I get to register before a lot of my peers. I basically get any class I want including professor. Another perk is that with the Goodnight Scholarship, I get very involved with extracurricular activities. They encourage us to apply to internships and get involved with undergrad research. All I have to worry about is keeping my GPA above a 3.0.

How much are the Good night and Chancellor’s scholarships worth? My daughter is up for the Goodnight scholarship

Also…Does anyone know when NC State Park scholars have to accept/decline the Park scholarship?

juliebean1234 - If you or your child got the Park Scholarship, take it! My daughter is a Goodnight Scholar and it’s a wonderful scholarship, but the Park is huge! You’ll regret turning that down. The Goodnight pays full tuition and fees above what your financial aid package covers with non-repayment funds. Any loans you choose to get you have to pay those back. We chose a loan to pay for books and personal items.
