NC State Early Action for Fall 2022 Admission

One time release at the end of Jan for early decision. March (I think) for regular admission.

Thank you.

One time release for all CoE, A, & S. Design, etc might have a different process. They usually release at the end of the third week, or the week before the last in January.

Anyone anxious for decisions to come out? How many applied engineering?

Very Anxious, NC State seems like a bit of a wildcard for us! Just another week and a half.

very anxious. My son applied for CS through the engineering department. He has been through so much as a kidā€¦praying he gets in. He as the STATS bus is from Wake county.

sorry for the typosā€¦seems to be no way to edit. but yes very anxious

Thought they released decisions on the 30th? Isnā€™t that 2 weeks still?

Same! Iā€™m from Wake County and applied for CS as well. What are his stats if you donā€™t mind?

AP classes like Physics 1, Physics C, Cal AB, Cal BC, Computer Science and a few humanities,
a ton of volunteer work for cancer research at NC state, swims up to 20 hours a week with the #1 swim team in the country, was selected for the NASA academy between his 9th and 10th grade. He pulled this off even though he has a DVPO against his father until he is 20. I wish they would increase the number of kids allowed into this program.

The 30th is a Sunday and someone posted earlier that the expectation was the 28th. I hope they were right!

My son is from Wake County and applied for CS tooā€¦.based on his stats he should get in but CS is SOOO competitive Iā€™m nervous!! Good luck!

Wake county is a killer. My son has been accepted into higher ranked programs for CS already but State is his top choice by far and with being in Wake Co I am very anxious abot his chances. Stats are there, but class rank isnā€™t (stupid competitive public school where a 4.5 isnt top 10%). Lets hope!!

Same! What are his stats if you donā€™t mind me asking?

His stats are:
ACT 31
SAT 1390
Those are great but hereā€™s what Iā€™m worried about. His GPA is 3.79/4.27 and he is only about top 20% of his class. The thing is, itā€™s not his grades, itā€™s the fact that he played football all through high school and took weight training 3 years which maxes out at 4.0, so he took less honors/AP courses that others in his class. He did take AP Calc, Computer Science, Physics, Environmental Science, Stat, Human Geography, and World History though. And he is a legacy since his dad went to state. Heā€™s been a Wolfpack fan his entire life and itā€™s definitely his top choice. I know there are a lot of other great schools he can attend, but he will be really disappointed if itā€™s not State. :frowning:

His stats are great for sure! Frankly, because heā€™s so well rounded and seems good at maintaining the balance between sports and academics, I think heā€™s in. Iā€™m no expert but those with similar stats have gotten in previous years. He has a great application; I donā€™t see a reason why he would be rejected other than his rank but Iā€™m sure NC State knows the rigor and competition of Wake County public high schools. Best of luck to him!

Thank you, I hope youā€™re right! He did get all Aā€™s this semester with 3 APs, so if he gets deferred he should still have a good shot.
What are your stats?

Anxiously awaiting a decision for my daughter, she really wants this one! OOS though so not sure if that reduces her chances.
