NC State Early Action for Fall 2022 Admission

UNC’s biomedical engineering program is a joint program with NCSU. That’s the only way they could get it accredited. Great program btw. About 70 students are admitted from each school after their first year, and they can take the BME core and elective classes at either school. Their diploma lists both UNC and NCSU. However, it is a VERY competitive program to get into from either school due to the limited seats and uniqueness of the program.

UNC still has biomedical engineering even if it is a joint program. Thanks for the clarification.

Yes I talked to the head of the honors college at the ‘experience nc state’ event and she said she gives the go ahead to release decisions when she’s walking out of the office so she doesn’t have to deal with emails until Monday. So we should be hearing soon.

My daughter’s friend was just accepted to Honors. Very high stats, OOS. Major - Exploratory.

DD alternate

Does anyone know does honors and scholars program still allow early registration for classes ? I heard they did away with that a few years ago.

Hi, can you share your Stats? My son got in EA but forgot to apply to Honors on his Common app so has just submitted his application a few days ago for the regular decision evaluation. Interested in the Stats of students that got in. Thanks!!

Sure! 3.9 UW, 4.8 W. 1540 SAT.

Thank you! My son is similar but has lower test scores. 3.9UW, 4.7W. 1480 SAT. Not sure his chances, we are out of state.

How did you find out? My son hasn’t mentioned hearing and I’m worried about asking.

I’m out of state too. I don’t know much about their selection process, but he seems to be in the right range to me!

It was emailed to me.

Thanks! Where are your from and what’s your major if you don’t mind me asking? Is NC State one of your top choice? What other schools are you considering? You have great stats.

Thanks! I finally asked my son and he was put on an alternate list.

Hi! Does anyone know anything about the Honors and Scholars Village/ whether it is a fun place to live? I was recently accepted into UHSP but I’m worried about the “Quad Commons” being isolated/ setting myself up for a lack of social opportunity.

Does anyone know if many people make it of the alternate list for the Honors college?

Thank you! I’m from the southwest and my major is Animal Sciences. NC State is definitely one of my top choices, especially after this honors acceptance, but my only holdback is the cost because my ultimate goal is to go to veterinary school. I wish I had known about the Park Scholarship before the deadline to apply, even though the chances of getting that would’ve been super slim! I’m interested in schools all over (Purdue, Wisconsin-Madison, UofA, etc.) but all with strong pre-vet tracks that I hope will get me on track in the veterinary field

I understand completely, we are waiting on hearing about $ as well. My niece is in pre-Vet at Purdue and loves it. Although I think that’s another school that doesn’t give a lot of OOS merit money. Good Luck and keep us posted!!
