Anyone know when financial aid is coming out?. Or do they wait until RD is complete in a few weeks?
It is very easy to do.
Just make sure you grab some Howling Cow Ice cream before you leave! That stuff is legendary and produced on campus from cows that are pampered by the animal science department.

I was just on portal and there is an update on there to view aid but mine just listed the federal loan . Hope he gets more than that, that barely pays for meals for one semester yet alone tuition. I was wondering if any one else has anything on theirs other than loans or he may have to pick his 2nd choice

Just accessed my portal,states fin aid sent in letter( vs electronically?) Seems odd
Actually was able to access full fin aid in portal after some searching. Using an iPad and I believe tabs are different. Package was very reasonable and for all intents and purposes same as UNC.

What kind of scholarships do they give because we signed up for everything on pack assist and only got a loan, Were they merit based of from pack assist. Still holding out for a miracle or perhaps winning the lottery. Can;t really handle a 40000 bill.

Sadly, it is probably time to consider the other offers on the table. NC State is pretty well known for not proving a lot of merit aid broadly across their accepted OOS students. They do have some very generous scholarships, but it drops off quickly once you are out of that circle.
There were some department and other scholarships to apply for in their portal, but the priority deadline was February 15.
We could not justify the costs for NC State when there were better options on the table.

I think we are almost at that point. Just got letter today that he did not qualify for any scholarships from natural resources but we can try next year and apply again. It is hard to believe that we did not get anything when he recieved other offers from other schools. I would have been happy with a couple thousand. Going to the financial aid meeting tomorrow night to get answers. We had everything in early and did the pack assist back in December which did no good.

Yes, last year for D21 we kept thinking something else will post any day. Never happened.
So I am assuming she did not go to NC State. Do you have regrets of not attending State?
What is your EFC? If you are in state then they should meet your EFC. For OOS, I don’t think they care much beyond the designated/“named” scholarships. The departmental scholarships are available but those are insanely competitive and not reserved for the purpose of attracting OOS talent unlike some other schools.

No, she never looked back and no one from NC State reached out to remind her to. She ended up with a range of great options from New England to Miami and ended up with priorities around where she had access to being involved from the first semester in hands-on research and engineering projects. Very happy at UNH.
