NC STATE hopeful in need for some advice

<p>What are my chances getting into the First Year College (FYC) at NC STATE, I've heard there less selective then the other colleges such the college of engineering, business, biology, etc at NC State</p>

<p>.My GPA for my senior year will be around 3.35 </p>

<p>.SAT-math=550-CR=500-Writing=500</p>

<p>.Attended NC STATES civil and mechanical engineering camp</p>

<p>.some EC's... life guarded 3 yrs</p>

<p>.some perfect scores on end of coarse test given by the state in geometry and algebra 2</p>

<p>.tooken physics, precal, adv algebra-trigonometry and other ap clases</p>

<p>also thinking about applying to UNCC and ECU</p>

<p>PLEASE HELP, THANX :)</p>

<p>hmm NC State for u will be a slight reach.
I would say if u get ur SAT scores up to at least an 1100 u have a better chance. </p>

<p>U should get into UNCC and def into ECU though.</p>

<p>Trust me, if that GPA is UW and you are in-state, then you will get into state.</p>

<p>Yea I know its easier to get into than the rest of the majors.
Still its not an open door policy either.
Thats why id say u have a pretty good shot at getting in. just try and raise ur SAT scores a bit. again if ur gpa is unweighted u have no problem and u should get in. if its weighted then u are going to have to raise ur SAT to about an 1100-1150 range.</p>

<p>if its weighted, you do not have a chance probably even with a slightly better SAT.
if its unweighted, you will likely get in. </p>

18% of their class has similar SATs to yours.
your unweighted gpa if thats what you are talking about is also close to average.</p>

yeah my gpa is unweighted at a 3.35..planning to get that up to around a 3.4 unweighted...and when applying does colleges look at ur fall and spring gpa or just the fall gpa of your senior year?? again thanx alot</p>

<p>Generally speaking they wanna see ur 1st semester grades of senior year. u normally send ur 9-11 transcripts before december when u apply to meet early deadlines and then forward 1st semester grads as soon as they come out.</p>
