NC State OOS Admission?

I am a white 16 year old girl going into my junior year. I live in Ohio, but have loved NC for as long as I can remember, and want to go somewhere in the state for college. Here are my stats does anyone have any advice? Do you think I could get in? If not, are there any other colleges in NC that you would reccommend? Thanks in advance!

Sophomore GPA-3.4 unweighted (I go to a very competetive high school that doesn’t do class rank.)
APs- US History, Government, Biology, and Eng Lang (so far)
ECs- Marching Band, Concert Band (section leader for both and uniform captain for both) Spring Musical and Fall play at my school, H2016, president of my schools Gay-Straight alliance, ad/public relations manager for my school newspaper, and member of femineering.
Volunteer- Brigids Path (an organization where you help babies that have been addicted to drugs through their mothers in the womb), helping with a local youth theatre and tutoring elementary/ middle school students in math.
I have taken honors courses my whole life, and the competetive nature of my school is responsible for the low GPA.
I havent taken any ACT or SATs yet, though i scored in the top 7% for PSAT10 if that helps??
Any/all advice would be so so helpful as I enter into my junior year!!
Thank you!

What do you want to study? What size school do you wish to attend, and in what kind of environment (urban vs. suburban vs. rural)? Will you need financial aid?

Until you have ACT/SAT test scores, it’s hard to give any meaningful opinion about admissions chances at NC State or elsewhere. But if you look at the “NC State RD 2020” thread on the NC State forum, you may get an idea of what GPA and test scores admitted students have who applied regular decision.

In regards to your ECs, focus on things that you are passionate about, and look for leadership opportunities as they present themselves. Quality is better than quantity in regards to ECs.

North Carolina State schools admit very few out of state students. When we toured NC State I think they say by law they can admit around 18% but NC State is around 11%. So I dont think it matters what your major is, its hard. Our son is applying but does’t think he will get in. This will be sort of a stretch school. Good luck
